Team UMACA Rocked the Rockies at the USAT 2010 National Qualifier #1
Colorado Springs, Co. - Team UMACA brought home four gold, six silver and two bronze medals from the USAT 2010 National Qualifier #1 that took place at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo., the weekend of March 6 and 7, 2010.
Team UMACA was represented by eight athletes that spanned the 10- to 18-years-old age divisions. They all qualified for the USAT 2010 Junior Olympics taking place June 29 through July 2, 2010.

UMACA Students Win Ten Medals at Taekwondo Junior Olympics in Austin, Texas
Saint Peters, MO: Nine members of the UMACA Competition Team fought their way to ten medal positions in the USA Taekwondo Junior Olympics that took place from Tues., June 30, to Sun., July 5, 2009, in Austin, TX.
“At this level of competition, the fact that every UMACA Competition Team member that participated in the Junior Olympics brought home a medal is something we are very proud of as a school,” said Master Brad Chapman, owner of UMACA. “The kids worked incredibly hard to prepare for this. It showed in their performance, and it really shined on the medal stand. I am very proud of them.”
The 2009 USAT Junior Olympics offered competitors the opportunity to compete in forms, breaking and weapons demonstrations as well as the main event – the sparring competition.
Representing UMACA and the MSTO Missouri State Team were Alexsis Sorice (14), Jorgen Angell (15), Chuong Nguyen (17) and Caitlin Baker (17). Representing the UMACA Competition Team were McKenna Chapman (10), Josephine Boynton (12), Jason West (13), Zoe Boynton (13), and Anoushka Bergmann (15).

Team UMACA Competes in Indy Cup Taekwondo Championships: Schubert, Baker and West Place First in Division
INDIANAPOLIS, IN — May 17, 2008 — Eleven members of UMACA's 2008 Taekwondo Competition Team competed in the Indy Cup Taekwondo Championships held in Indianapolis, Ind., on May 17, 2008. Caitlin Baker, a third degree black belt, and Michael Schubert, a brown belt, both triumphed in their divisions' forms competition with first place. Jason West, an first degree black belt, successfully battled for first place in his division for sparring. Over 350 competitors participated in the regional tournament from a variety of states including Kentucky, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Missouri, Ohio and Tennessee.

Team UMACA Competitors Excel in Moo Do Kwan and S.U. Kim Taekwondo Tournaments
SAINT PETERS, MO — May 13, 2008 — Team UMACA competitors recently participated in two local taekwondo tournaments. The Moo Doo Kwon Tournament, which included forms and sparring competition, took place on April 26, 2008, in Clayton, Mo., and was held by the Gateway Moo Do Kwan school under the direction of Grandmaster Bong Yul Shin. The S. U. Kim Tournament was held at South High School on May 3, 2008, in Saint Peters, Mo. It included forms, sparring, breaking and black-belt weapons competition and was sponsored by Master S. U. Kim of the S. U. Kim United Martial Arts school in O'Fallon, Mo.

UMACA Taekwondo Team Compete in Missouri State Open Taekwondo Tournament
EUREKA, MO — Mar. 29, 2008 — Team UMACA members competed in the Missouri State Open on Sat., Mar. 29, 2008, sponsored by the Missouri State Taekwondo Organization (MSTO) under the direction of Master WooSop Moore.
The open included both taekwondo forms competition and taekwondo sparring competition, following USA Taekwondo rules for all sparring competitors ranked blue belt and up. House rules were in place for competitors ranked green belts and below. Medals were awarded in each division for first, second and thrid places.

COLLINSVILLE, IL — Mar. 8, 2008 — UMACA students competed in the fourth annual Myung Tournament in Collinsville, Il. on Sat., Mar. 8, 2008. Fifteen students from both the St. Peters and Troy locations represented UMACA, with ranks ranging from yellow- to black-belt.

ST. PETERS, MO — Feb. 23, 2008 — UMACA hosted its second annual Taekwondo Mini-tournament on Sat., Feb 23, 2008. In addition to student participants from UMACA's taekwondo program, students from Woosop Taekwondo in Fenton, Mo., and Taiga Taekwondo in Arnold, Mo., also participated in the taekwondo forms and sparring competition.
